Marriage, Islam, and Intimate Relations: Building Family and Community in Arab Detroit

Drs. Wellman and Shuraydi discuss how Arab American Muslims in metro Detroit navigate marriage amidst the challenges of U.S. imperial violence, anti-Muslim racism and neoliberal values. Through ethnographic research, the study examines how Arab American Muslims strive to build successful relationships and strengthen their communities in the face of ongoing imperial violence and systemic challenges.
