CEID Seminar: HPV Vaccines, Questions and Hesitancy
This event is in the past.
3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
We are pleased to invite the campus community and colleagues to Wayne State University’s Center for Emerging and Infectious Diseases (CEID)'s webinar series on addressing vaccine hesitancy. Developed by CEID, this accredited webinar series equips healthcare professionals with evidence-based, practical communication strategies and techniques to effectively address patient concerns and confusion regarding vaccines.
Session four will take place from 3:30-4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 11, via Zoom.
HPV vaccines have been stigmatized in part because they are associated with control of sexually transmitted disease. The vaccine is highly effective in preventing to protect from HPV infections and related cancers. It's recommended for adolescents, and some adults. This session will counter myths about behavioral impact and gender-specific concerns, teach how to communicate about its 90%+ cancer prevention efficacy and share age-appropriate discussions with adolescents and parents.
