Wayne State University and the Detroit Center for Black Studies invite members of our community to stop by and meet our candidate for Director of the Detroit Center for Black Studies.
This gathering will offer you an opportunity to hear the candidate share their vision and priorities for DCBS, including how they hope to strengthen partnerships, scholarship, and community engagement if selected as director.
Darius J. Young is a nationally recognized award-winning author, respected academic leader, and scholar of Black political movements whose work explores the powerful intersection of race, politics, and community during the long Civil Rights movement. He currently serves as Interim Dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Research and is the Founding Director of the Center for African and African American Studies at Florida A&M University.
