This event is in the past.
Noon to 1 p.m.
The Office of Health Research invites the campus community to a bi-monthly Lunch and Learn series focused on various research topics, tools, best practices and important updates for Wayne State University faculty. The event is free; RSVP is required.
This event will be on Tuesday, February 3, 2026 from 12 PM to 1 PM. Please join us in an engaging presentation led by Dr. Deborah Ellis, Professor and Associate Chair for Research in the Department of Family Medicine and Public Health Sciences. She has provided the following abstract:
The ORBIT model is a framework designed to translate basic behavioral and social science findings into effective, evidence-based behavioral treatments. ORBIT uses a phased, iterative approach to intervention design and testing. The presentation will review the ORBIT model and demonstrate how it can be applied using a program of research to develop behavioral interventions to support illness management among Black youth with diabetes as an exemplar.
This is an in-person event, and it will not be recorded. Registration is required by January 2nd and seating is limited. A light lunch and refreshments will be served.
All Lunch & Learn sessions will be held on the first and third Tuesday of the month from 12 to 1 PM. with the exception of some dates due to holidays.
We hope you can join us for these important sessions hosted by the Office of Health Research!
