Shakespeare in Prison: Storytelling, Agency, and Ensemble Work (Post-show discussion)
This event is in the past.
4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Immediately following the Wednesday, February 11 matinee of Julius Caesar at the Hilberry Gateway, join us for a special opportunity to engage in meaningful dialogue surrounding Julius Caesar and the themes of power, voice, and collective transformation. In partnership with Shakespeare in Prison, Detroit Public Theatre’s signature community program, we invite audiences to learn more about how creative expression and ensemble practice support personal growth and agency for people incarcerated in the Michigan Department of Corrections.
Sophia Esch, Director of Shakespeare in Prison, alongside members of the Julius Caesar cast and creative team, will explore how storytelling shapes identity, builds community, and drives the transformative impact of Shakespeare in Prison.
