• A light tasting of African themed food and beverages
• An opportunity to watch the pre-show warm-up
• Each guest will receive one complimentary ticket to the afternoon performance (up to the first 40 guests, after which tickets will be available through the box office.) About To Sangana
To Sangana is a dance company where students learn traditional and contemporary African dance, the basics of playing the hand drums and other small instruments, realize the use of their voices and another language with verbal call & responses, Afro-Beat and Soukous style of dance and music. Understand and learn the importance of telling a story through dance, learning how to mix styles of dance respectfully. Learning how to bring their individual strengths to the stage and further.
This company has travel experience with IABD (International Association of Blacks in Dance), conference, a different spot in the states each year!
How to tell a story through dance performing on their stage with African and African derived dances. They have traveled to N.Y. for DanceAfrica at the Brooklyn Academy of Music, and N.Y. For the “Edges of Ailey Exhibition” at the Whitney Museum. We have also toured elementary to high schools and colleges as well as Nursing Homes, and community centers, and campus events. They have experienced guest artist from U.S. and Africa, while experiencing the importance of learning to work together as a group.
