Virtual Information Session for Congressional Office Internship Opportunity

WSU Government Relations is hosting a virtual information session with representatives from the Office of US Senator Elissa Slotkin on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, 2pm-3pm, to discuss summer internship opportunities in Senator Slotkin’s Michigan and Washington DC offices. The internship provides hands-on experience in public service and offers exposure to policy research, constituent services, communications, and the daily operations of a congressional office.
This opportunity is well-suited for undergraduate and graduate students interested in government, public policy, law, political science, communications, or civic engagement. Interns will gain practical professional experience while developing skills relevant to a wide range of career paths. This is a unique opportunity to gain firsthand experience in public service and government operations.
Internship Roles:
- Washington, D.C. Interns: Assist in answering phones, attend hearings and briefings, and support our legislative staff with policy research and administrative tasks.
- Michigan Interns: Assist with on-the-ground outreach, answer constituent calls, and support our constituent services team in providing resources and assistance to residents across the state.
