The Detroit Police Department’s contract for ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection surveillance system, is up for renewal in 2026. This workshop will discuss the reasons why we, as a community, cannot rely on ShotSpotter to keep us safe and explore how we can voice these concerns to City Council through public comment. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn the mechanics of making public comments and draft their own.
Food and beverages provided.
