The Irvin D. Reid Honors College invites its students and recent grads to an engaging, two-part FREE networking experience designed to help you build meaningful, professional connections.

We’ll kick off the evening at the Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center (I2C) with a seminar led by Tamme Quinn-Grzebyk, Assistant Professor of Teaching Management at the Mike Ilitch School of Business. From 4:30–5:30 p.m., you’ll gain practical tools, strategies, and confidence to approach networking with intention and authenticity. Whether you’re advancing in your field, exploring new paths, or simply growing your professional circle, this event is designed to elevate your networking skills in any room you're in. Light refreshements will be available.

After the seminar, we’ll put those skills into action by heading to TechTown for their popular First Thursdays networking event from 5:30–7:30 p.m. This is your chance to connect with fellow alumni, Detroit professionals, and community innovators in a dynamic, real-world setting.

Whether you’re new to networking or ready to refine your approach, this event blends learning and practice to help you make connections that last.

Schedule:

  • 4:30–5:30 p.m. | Networking seminar at the I2C Building

  • 5:30–7:30 p.m. | TechTown First Thursdays networking event (*Please note that if you are planning on attending this part of the session, you will be required to RSVP directly with TechTown. The link will be provided to you in your registration confirmation email*)
