Abstract 

From a technology perspective, the very nature of engineering in a globalized world - especially in an era of rapid AI-driven disruption - is continually evolving. This transformation is redefining what it means to become and succeed as an engineer. In this seminar, Dr. McNicol will connect current industry trends with the realities facing engineering students today, offering insights into how industries operate now and how they are likely to evolve in the future. Drawing on key moments from his own journey, from his time as an engineering student at Wayne State University to the diverse experiences throughout his technology career, Dr. McNicol will illustrate the skills, mindset, and adaptability required to thrive. This seminar will explore what it will take to be a successful engineer in the coming years and beyond.
