Learning Reimagined: AI and the Future of Education
3:45 p.m. to 7 p.m.
AI is opening new possibilities for how students learn, how educators teach, and how communities access world-class education.
Join us for an exploration of how artificial intelligence is transforming education—from K-12 classrooms to college campuses and beyond. Global education innovator Sal Khan, founder of Khan Academy, will share his vision for how AI can personalize learning, support educators and expand opportunity for all students.
Co-hosted by the College of Education and Office of the Provost, this free community event brings together educators, students, families and community partners to engage in one of the most important conversations in education today. The evening will include:
- A virtual keynote and live Q & A withSal Khan on how AI is expanding access and transforming learning opportunities for students worldwide (Khan's presentation will begin promptly at 4 p.m.)
- A panel discussion featuring metro Detroit K-12 and higher education leaders, including Dr. Kenneth Gutman, superintendent of Oakland Schools, Dr. Wanda Hudson, associate provost of educational affairs for the Wayne County Community College District, and Dr. Meina Zhu, associate professor of learning design and technology in the Wayne State University College of Education
- A reception
Whether you're an educator, a student, a family member, a community leader, or simply someone curious about where learning is headed, this conversation is for you.
This event is free and open to all. No AI expertise required; just bring your curiosity. Seating is limited, so reserve your seat today!
