From Data to Insights: Systems Modeling of Care Delivery for Older Adults with Cancer at the End of Life

by

Inas Khayal

Department of Oncology, Wayne State University

This talk presents a novel data-driven approach to understanding longitudinal care delivery for older adults with advanced cancer at the end-of-life. We demonstrate how Medicare claims-based data, captured for healthcare reimbursement, can be transformed from static tabular form into dynamic representations: patient-level care trajectories and signal and network visualizations that characterize care delivery patterns across the healthcare system.
