Papermaking session using recycled materials
2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Join in a one-time papermaking session using recycled materials.
In this introductory course, you will learn the fundamental techniques of hand papermaking, including pulp preparation, sheet forming, couching, pressing, and drying. We will also cover a brief history of papermaking. Each student will create their own DIY mould and deckle. As part of the course, we will complete a project using recycled fibers, and everyone will have the opportunity to take home their handmade paper. Students are encouraged to bring yarn scraps, flower petals, or other ephemera they would like to incorporate into their paper.
