Be The Change is BLSA’s annual early pipeline program designed to empower and inspire Detroit youth by exposing them to career opportunities in the legal field. This community service and mentorship event allows 6th through 8th-grade students to tour the law school, participate in live debates, and receive mentorship from current law students and attorneys. This year, BLSA will partner with Detroit International School for Young Women, hosting approximately 60 students. We are asking law students to volunteer and support this opportunity to give back. We will need volunteers in the following areas:

• Welcoming students and signing them in
• Coaching youth on speech formation and research
• Lunch setup and breakdown.

Volunteers will be needed from 9:00 AM to 1:45 PM. We kindly ask that if you volunteer, you stay for the entire time block unless communicated otherwise. Link will be sent out soon. Please remember that this is an opportunity to give back to our community, and it truly takes a village to make it happen.
