Paradise Lost Reading Circle
Join the Humanities Center and the Commonwealth Club for a unique exploration of John Milton’s 17th century British epic, Paradise Lost. Dr. Jaime Goodrich (Director, Humanities Center and Chair, Department of English) will lead a weekly reading circle of the 17th century British epic poem Paradise Lost by John Milton. An expert in early modern literature, Goodrich, will accompany participants in an exploration of the literary, historical, and cultural contexts of the epic, bringing this work to life in new ways.
This reading circle is free and open to the public. Registrants will need a copy of Paradise Lost by John Milton and regular access to a computer with internet in order to participate. The book is widely available at local libraries and bookstores, as well as online through Project Gutenberg and other Open Access libraries. Due to the subject matter of the poems, this event is not recommended for children.
