First Voice Generation Documentary Screening

Experience First Voice Generation, a powerful documentary following three Latinx high school students in Holland, Michigan, as they navigate identity, belonging, and the challenges of becoming first-generation college students. The film raises awareness about the experienices of first-generation college students and promotes educational equity.
In 2023, First Voice Generationa was screened fifteen times nationwide at film festivals, colleges, and universities, receiving critical acclaim and recognition. Cynthia's talent as a director was further highlighted when she was awarded Best Director at the Mexican Television and Film Festival in Los Angeles, California.
This event will include a Q&A session with filmmaker Cynthia Martinez.
