Graduating College of Engineering seniors (May, August or December 2026 and those who graduated in December 2025) are invited to the 66th Annual Professional Society Induction & Ceremony. Students will be inducted into 1 of 3 professional organizations, based on their engineering discipline.
What is the Professional Society Induction & Order of the Engineer Ceremony?
Graduating Engineering, Engineering Technology, and Computer Science students are recognized in a formal ceremony.
- First induction ceremony: Computer Science and IT graduates repeat The Pledge of the Computing Professional. They will also receive a gold stole to wear with their commencement regalia.
- Second induction ceremony: Engineering Technology division students get pinned in the Professional Order of Engineering Technology (POET). They will also receive a red stole to be worn with their commencement regalia.
- Final induction ceremony: The Ring Ceremony is the public induction of BME, ChE, CEE, ECE, ISE, and ME candidates into the Order of the Engineer, during which the engineer candidates formally accept the Obligation of an Engineer and receive a stainless-steel ring to be worn as a symbol on the little finger of the working hand. They will also receive an orange stole to wear with their commencement regalia.
This is an optional event- all BS College of Engineering graduating students are eligible.
* Please note this is a professional society induction ceremony and not the engineering commencement ceremony.
Registered grads must be checked in by 12:30 Noon to be able to participate in the ceremony.
Registration for this event is now closed.
