Melvenna Fant-Jones
Melvenna Fant-Jones was a member of the Wayne State debate team from 2000-2005.  She is a Detroit-area paralegal, survivor-advocate, and the founder and executive director of WHEAT (Women Healing Eternally and Transforming), a nonprofit dedicated to supporting women and families affected by domestic violence, trauma, and homelessness.  Melvenna was honored by the Detroit Bar Association with the Corporate Citizen Outreach Recognition Award in November 2025 for her oustanding impact and dedication to serving survivors and families across Southeastern Michigan.  Alongside her nonprofit work, she has held leadership roles within the State Bar of Michigan’s Paralegal Section and is recognized for her advocacy and community impact, focusing on empowering survivors to rebuild their lives.
