Objectives:
1. Recognize that multiple classes of psychotropic medications - including antipsychotics, antidepressants, and mood stabilizers - carry metabolic risk and explain the pharmacological mechanisms underlying weight gain.
2. Describe the neurobiological and metabolic mechanisms of GLP-1 receptor agonists and summarize the clinical trial evidence supporting their use in patients with psychotropic medication-associated obesity.
3. Apply a practical and multidisciplinary framework for metabolic monitoring, patient communication, and pharmacologic intervention within psychiatric practice.
