Join us on Sunday, June 7, 2026 at 2:00 PM at the Detroit Institute of Arts Lecture Hall for a special lecture by distinguished guest speaker Chase Robinson, PhD, Director of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art. This event commemorates the 120th anniversary of Detroit industrialist Charles Lang Freer’s historic gift of his art collection to the Smithsonian Institution and explores Detroit’s role in shaping America’s first national art museum. The lecture will highlight Freer’s legacy, the cultural significance of the Freer House, and the lasting impact of art in connecting communities and generations.
