Join Michigan Families for Fair Care on July 30 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Michigan State Capitol to celebrate 61 years of Medicaid and advocate for its future.

On July 30, 1965, President Lyndon B. Johnson signed Medicaid into law — and 61 years later, it remains one of the most vital health programs in American history. In Michigan alone, Medicaid covers more than 2.5 million residents, including children, seniors, people with disabilities, and working families who have nowhere else to turn.

But this anniversary comes at a critical moment. Medicaid is under serious threat at the federal level, and the stakes for Michigan families could not be higher. That's why the Protect MI Care Coalition is gathering at the Michigan State Capitol for the March for Medicaid — to celebrate 61 years of Medicaid and make clear that we will not stand by while coverage is cut.

Make your voice heard. RSVP today for the March for Medicaid on July 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Michigan State Capitol.
