Same Diagnosis, Different Outcomes: Exploring the Biology of Breast Cancer Disparities
6 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Join us for an important conversation - Same Diagnosis, Different Outcomes: Exploring the Biology of Breast Cancer Disparities
Dr. Kristen Purrington will discuss her research on why Black women with hormone-sensitive breast cancer are more likely to die from their disease than White women. Using patient data and molecular analysis, she aims to identify differences in tumor biology that could inform more personalized and equitable breast cancer care.
Karmanos Cancer Institute's Office of Community Outreach and Engagement (COE), in collaboration with the Detroit Public Library, invites you to our next Community Conversation on Cancer. This event will be held both in person at the Detroit Public Library (Main Branch) and virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, September 9, 2026.
