We at the Office of International Students & Scholars want to ensure that your time with Wayne State University is enriching and fulfilling throughout the Fall 2026 academic semester. However, we know that it also involves abiding by many overwhelming and sometimes frustrating federal regulations and guidelines. That's why we'd like to invite you to join our upcoming presentation on Maintaining Your Status on Friday, September 11th, 2026, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. We will be exploring the many ways each of you is required to keep up with your Visa status through an interactive Kahoot quiz and PowerPoint presentation.

These topics will include:

  • Defining and understanding SEVIS and SEVP regulations
  • Requirements for New Students
  • Understanding the Role of OISS
  • Full-Time Enrollment and the Allowed Exceptions
  • The Importance of Health Insurance Coverage
  • Maintaining and Monitoring Employment (ie. CPT, OPT, On-Campus)
  • Departing and Reentering the Country
  • Termination, and How You Can AVOID it
  • And Much More!

Please gather in Room 010 of the Student Center Building or join via Zoom for vital information and tasty snacks.

We look forward to seeing you there!
