Wayne Law students are invited to attend our Lunch with a Lawyer series, presented by the Office of Development and Alumni Affairs.

This session features a candid conversation with Mark J. Zausmer ’80, founder and Managing Shareholder of Zausmer, P.C. The discussion will explore the range of career paths a law degree can unlock, with particular attention to the business of law.

About the Speaker:

Mark J. Zausmer is the founder and Managing Shareholder of Zausmer, P.C., one of Michigan’s most respected litigation firms. Over his career, he has played a pivotal role in landmark redevelopment and economic growth projects across Detroit and Southeastern Michigan, including the Fox Theater District, Cobo Hall expansion, and Veterans Administration Hospital. Mark has also guided financially distressed businesses through complex rehabilitations and receiverships, earning appointments from state leaders to resolve high-profile cases.

Beyond his legal work, Mark serves on several community boards, including City Year Detroit, the Detroit Jewish Foundation, Math Corps, and the Wayne County Jail Outreach Ministry. In 2019, he was inducted into the Michigan Lawyers Weekly Hall of Fame, and in 2023, he was inducted into the Wayne Law Wall of Fame.
