Participants will better understand the disease process, effective communication strategies, and techniques to reduce stress while maintaining their own well-being. Receiving a dementia diagnosis can feel overwhelming, bringing many questions and uncertainties for individuals and their families. This emotional turmoil is often accompanied by feelings of grief over the loss of independence and the uncertainty of the future. Kate will provide practical guidance on the important steps to take following a diagnosis, including understanding the disease, building a care team, planning for the future, and maintaining quality of life. Families and caregivers also play a crucial role in providing emotional support and fostering a sense of clarity and purpose.
