As an urban-serving public research institution, Wayne State plays a unique and important role in driving economic prosperity in Detroit, and the Division of Entrepreneurship and Economic Development (DEED) and TechTown Detroit play a big part in that work. DEED and TechTown are co-located in the university’s 12-acre Innovation District, which is anchored by the TechTown building, the Industry Innovation Center (I2C), and I-Bio. Together, we are leading efforts to elevate the university’s economic impact, including through corporate engagement, WSU OPEN, and a robust suite of entrepreneurship programs.

In this session, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 28, you'll learn about the various resources available through DEED and TechTown, including:

• Community and corporate partnerships (including the process for pursuing sponsored events, programs, and research)
• Collaborative workspace offerings, including co-working space memberships and drop-ins, suite rentals, and event rental space
• Entrepreneurial education and training (for students); small business and tech startup services, from ideation to scaling
