Faculty mentors play a key role in guiding undergraduate students through the research process. But how do you find the right mentor, and how do you make the most of that relationship? This workshop will cover:

• Strategies for identifying a mentor (e.g., from class professors, using faculty profiles and ForagerOne, setting up informational meetings)
• Setting clear expectations
• Building a professional, supportive, and mutually beneficial relationship

You'll leave with practical tips for connecting with faculty and building a positive mentoring experience in any undergraduate research setting, whether that be for a UROP-funded project, research assistantship, directed study, volunteer position, or class-based research-intensive experience.
