The Wayne State University Jazz Big Band combines the traditional big-band sound with elements from Detroit’s distinctive jazz heritage. Under the direction of Professor Vincent Chandler, the ensemble explores swing, bebop, modern jazz, and the legacy of Detroit jazz artists. This program will feature additional compositions and arrangements by Oliver Nelson.
