Witnessing Child and Family Trauma: Supporting Child Welfare Professionals Through Grief, Violence,
12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
This training examines the impact of repeated exposure to trauma within child welfare practice and explores strategies to promote resilience, wellness, and professional sustainability. Participants will learn trauma-informed approaches to managing the emotional demands of child welfare work, strengthening professional boundaries, recognizing signs of secondary trauma, and utilizing practical self-care and coping strategies. Through reflection and discussion, participants will identify methods for maintaining their well-being while continuing to provide effective support to children and families experiencing crisis.
CONTINUING EDUCATION: Attendees can obtain 1 social work CECH’s upon completion of the training, payment receipt and passing of the post-training quiz. A CECH certificate will be available for download upon completion of the aforementioned items.
COST: Free to all MDHHS workers and MDHHS contracted private agencies; $30 all others.
