Join fellow alumni and learn about key items to consider when buying, selling, financing or refinancing a home. Alumnus Jonathan Strong '97 and real estate expert Lawrence Grodsky will share their insight on a number of topics, including:

  • Important considerations when making a real estate transaction
  • Strategies to improve your position for a home sale or purchase, lower costs and effectively manage the process.
  • Strategies to save and invest to build money for a down payment on a home mortgage.
  • How to select a real estate agent, mortgage finance specialist or estate sale specialist.

About the speakers

Jonathan Strong, CRPC, account vice president, UBS – Strong joined UBS in 2012 after 6 years with Merrill Lynch. He has over 22 years of experience in the investment industry and holds a B.A. from Michigan State University and an M.A. from Wayne State University. He is past director of the National Association of Investors Corporation, where he analyzed individual stocks and mutual funds. There he also worked with executives at Fortune 500 companies. He has extensive knowledge in financial and retirement planning for families and small businesses. A lifelong resident of Michigan, Jonathan his wife, Kathleen, and two children live in Troy.

Lawrence Grodsky is a real estate professional with more than 16 years experience, currently working at Real Estate One in Troy, Michigan. Serving primarily Oakland, Macomb and Wayne counties in multiple roles representing sellers, buyers, investors, and family estates, Grodsky aims to educate his clients through every aspect of the real estate transaction. He provides families strategies to improve their home sale, home purchase, lower costs and effectively manage the real estate transaction process. Grodsky is a lifelong Michigan resident and graduated from the University of Michigan in 1988. He lives with his wife, Lisa, and their two children in Troy.
