Social Work Summer Jam
This event is in the past.
RSVP is closed.
Are you a current WSU School of Social Work student or simply interested in the profession? We invite you to join us for some fun in the sun, to grab free grub, play games, and learn what life is like as a Social Work Warrior!
Faculty and staff will be on hand to discuss programs, classes, research opportunities, and support services. You can also chat with current students about ways to get involved and advocate for your community.
You will even have the opportunity to 'Dunk the Dean' in our dunk tank! You can earn a throw by bringing either a $5 cash donation or 2 items (below) to support Detroit's Noah Project. The NOAH provides hygiene needs to low-income individuals and those struggling with homelessness within the local Detroit community. NOAH assists these individuals in navigating the complex and daunting process of housing, employment, and social service resources. Providing clients with hygiene necessities helps meet the immediate needs they have while working towards these other goals.
Dunk the Dean Donation Items: bars of soap, razors, deodorant, lotion, toothpaste, toothbrushes, chapstick, adult size socks, boxer briefs (size M-2XL), hand warmers, floss, nail clippers, brushes and combs, kleenex, and baby wipes.
Attendees are welcome to bring up to two guests, just include their information in the RSVP. RSVP's are required.
This event will comply with all current campus COVID regulations. All attendees will be required to show their green campus daily screener for entry, so please be sure to bring your phones and complete your screener in advance (Guest Screener - Student Screener).
We look forward to seeing our current and possibly future Social Work Warrior Family for fun, food and games at this event!
