Lunches with Leaders: Dr. Mel Bedi
This event is in the past.
Noon to 1 p.m.
Honors students are invited to participate in this ongoing lunch series that connects students with leaders from campus and the community. Please join us on Tuesday, February 27, at 12 noon for a conversation with the Dr. Mel Bedi.
Dr. Mel Bedi is a translational scientist with a “Bench-to-bedside” approach to scientific research. Trained as a biochemist (Indiana State University) as well as a medicinal chemist and a pharmacist (University of Toledo), Dr. Bedi’s work focuses on the creation of tools for the elucidation of mechanisms involved in oxidative damage to DNA and RNA. In line with his philosophy of servant leadership, Dr. Bedi has dedicated his career to the actualization of the human potential through the avenues of faith and education. Dr Mel Bedi is married to his college sweetheart Eiffey and is the proud father of a beautiful daughter Aliza. He hopes to one day return to his native Côte d’Ivoire, to add his contribution to the development of his nation.
