Join us on Monday, October 28, when the Wayne State University Eugene Applebaum College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences will host Dr. John Lysack, Clinical Professor and the Vice Chair of Education and Innovation in the Department of Radiology at the University of Calgary, where he also holds cross-appointments in the Departments of Clinical Neurosciences, Surgery, and Oncology. He'll deliver a presentation titled "Don't Fear the Robots." The event, including a lecture and a Q&A session, will occur in person at the Wayne State University Industry Innovation Center, followed by a reception with light hors d'oeuvres and refreshments from 5 to 7 p.m.

With master’s degrees in engineering and law in addition to 15 years of clinical experience as a neuroradiologist, Dr. Lysack brings a rare breadth of knowledge and expertise to the issue of AI adoption in health care. In March 2023, a comprehensive analysis by Goldman Sachs concluded that, from a technical perspective, artificial intelligence (AI) could replace over 25% of all healthcare jobs in the U.S. today. So why hasn’t that happened? And how long will that last? The answers lie at the intersection of technology, medicine, and law.
