Stop Kiss is a poignant and funny play about the ways, both sudden and slow, that lives can change irrevocably. Watch as Callie meets Sara; these two women unexpectedly fall in love. The tragic consequences of their first kiss and the violence it provokes transforms their lives in a way they could never anticipate. Director Cheryl Turski sums up Stop Kiss as “A bold first kiss between two women. A horrific violent response from the world. Set in New York City in the late nineties, Stop Kiss oscillates between the rush of a blossoming romance, and the painful aftermath of a hate crime. Will Callie finally learn to stop swerving and commit to love? Will Sara return to the ease of the Midwest, or continue to face the harsh realities of New York? The show asks, "When society punishes those who dare to live outside its norms, how does love heal?” Join us for a night of theatre that confronts timely and relevant topics and serves as an indictment of hatred while also providing a moving study of the perils inherent in living life fully.
