Please join us for a memorial celebration and reception in honor of educator, Tigers trivia master and Wayne State University Professor Emeritus Dr. Edward J. Pappas.

Dr. Edward J. Pappas (1931-2018) was a master teacher and administrator at Wayne State University. From 1973-1990 as chair of the Department of Communication, Ed guided and motivated faculty and students to pursue excellence. Under his leadership, the department accelerated its growth and visibility to become a nationally recognized center for communication research and teaching. In addition to his expertise in communication, Ed lectured broadly on baseball to academic and public audiences alike. His expertise was such that he coauthored a book with his friend Professor Wil Linkugel of the University of Kansas, They Tasted Glory: Among the Missing at the Baseball Hall of Fame (1998.)
