David Vocadlo is a medicinal chemist and chemical biologist who studies sugar enzymes. As part of his training, David was one of Prof. Carolyn Bertozzi's first postdocs when she was an assistant professor, so he has some great stories from that time. Since then, he has put molecules into phase 1 and phase 2 clinical studies for neurodegenerative disease. His group also builds real-time fluorescent assays for intracellular and in vivo measurements.
