Wayne State University's Department of Criminal Justice is proud to announce its 3rd annual "Just Poetry." This community-based event will feature community members speaking to their notions, perceptions, and/or experiences of crime/justice through poetry and spoken word. People from a range of backgrounds will share their work throughout the evening, including nationally recognized Detroit poets, previously incarcerated individuals, victims of violence, members of the local law enforcement community, people who have worked for/in metro-Detroit prisons, and Wayne State students and faculty. The event is free and open to the public (18+). Over 200 guests attended last year's event so seating is limited and first-come, first-serve.
