Explore opportunities in Special Education

Are you looking for a rewarding, high-demand career? The need for special education teachers is on the rise! Discover how you can join this growing field of educators and make a difference in your local community.

The Wayne State University College of Education’s special education program invites you to attend the Special Education Showcase on Tuesday, April 18. The event will be held in the Faculty Lounge from 4:30 to 6 p.m.

The showcase is open to students enrolled or interested in special education programs, educators working in special education, and others interested in learning more about special education options at Wayne State. The College of Education offers Special Education programs in the areas of Cognitive Impairment (CI), Learning Disabilities (LD) and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). (Autism endorsement only available in cohort programs at the master's level.)

Special Education Program Coordinator and Lecturer Michele Kaseta will discuss:

  • Bachelor’s and master’s programs in special education
  • Online opportunities in special education
  • Community-based cohort programs
  • Adding a special education endorsement to your teaching certificate
  • Funding your special education degree or endorsement
