Annual Dean's Diversity Lecture – March 21, 2013, 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. at the Spencer Partrich Law School Auditorium on the Wayne State University Campus. This lecture is on Cultural Competence with LGBTQI populations and will feature a keynote speaker; Lori Messinger, M.A., M.S.W., Ph.D., Professor and Director, School of Social Work, College of Health and Human Services, University of North Carolina, Wilmington.   Messinger's primary areas of research include social work practice with lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender(LGBT) populations; comprehensive community planning processes; cultural competence in social work education and practice; and organizational change processes, especially in higher education institutions. She has published widely in social work and conducted funded research.  

The lecture includes a panel discussion with representatives from faculty, student organizations, and the practice field.  Lecture is free and open to all.  Two CECHs are available with a $10.00 processing fee payable at the lecture.  No RSVP or prepayment.
