Care Coordination: Empowering Families training for parents with a child with epilepsy (seizures) or other special health care needs.

When it comes to getting medical care for their child, the role of the parent is an important one. Often it is up to the parent to make sure the needs of their child are met. The Michigan Pediatric Epilepsy Project, in partnership with Michigan Family to Family Health Information Center and the Family Center for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs, is offering a special training in Detroit, Michigan on Thursday, Sept 12, 2019.

PURPOSE: to help you learn ways to improve care coordination for your child.

To be ELIGIBLE to attend you must:

- Be the parent (biological, foster, step, kinship or adoptive) or legal guardian of a child or youth (birth - age 18) with epilepsy (seizures) OR other special health care needs.
- Be able to attend the full day of training on Thursday, Sept 12, 2019 from 9 am to 5 pm.
- Be willing to complete a pre-training survey before you attend the training, as well as a follow up survey later.

There is no cost to you for this training. You will receive a $150 gift card at the end of the day of the training after turning in your evaluation form. This is to help offset your time, mileage, and childcare costs you may have. Lunch will be provided during the training.

The training will be held in Detroit, MI at the Northwest Campus of Wayne County Community College. You will be notified of the exact address when you receive your confirmation email for the training.
