Calling all block clubs, neighborhood associations, community organizations, CDCs, non-profits, churches, individuals...basically EVERYONE!

Have an idea for a community-driven event or program you'd like to make happen on Belle Isle? Here's your chance to get it funded and off the ground! Detroit SOUP, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources and the Belle Isle Conservancy have partnered to bring you the second installment of Belle Isle SOUP!

Attendees pay $5 (suggested donation) for soup and salad, and a vote on which event or program they think benefits the community the most. The winner goes home with all of the money raised to carry out their event or program on Belle Isle. At the dinner, residents and supporters connect, share ideas and community resources. Proposals due August 11. Food donations and volunteers also needed. Please call 313-334-7056, e-mail sandersb@belleisleconservancy.org or visit Detroit SOUP for more details.

Check out highlights of our inaugural SOUP winner, Detroit Kite Festival, which took place on Belle Isle Sunday, July 16!
