Help create a new public space in Midtown!

Wayne State University (WSU) is crowdfunding to transform a portion of its Woodward and Warren greenspace into an active, family-friendly public park! With your help, WSU will add sustainable landscaping, pop-up seating, shade sails and lawn games. They’ll also build a WSU Placemaking/Detroit Experience Factory (DXF) satellite kiosk, which will serve as a place where students, employees, residents and visitors can go for information on the city.

Join WSU and DXF for a campaign kick-off on Wednesday, September 20, and help get the ball rolling!

Woodbrige Pub has graciously offered to provide FREE heavy appetizers for as many attendees as sign up. Pop (a.k.a. soda) is also on the house, and alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase. Plus, WSU will be raffling off PRIZES!

Purchase tickets via Eventbrite, or pay with cash or check at the door. Checks should be made payable to "Wayne State University". Funds raised will go towards WSU’s Public Spaces, Community Places campaign.

WSU's crowdfunding campaign will be live from September 19—November 17. If WSU reach its $25,000 goal, the MEDC will match every dollar! You can also help by joining WSU in the Park between 10:00a and 2:00p on Fridays during the campaign. They'll be there with seating and games. Come and have fun, or better yet, sign up to volunteer! Others will see you, follow your example and be inspired to contribute.
