
The Office of the Vice President for Research is pleased to host the next Sustainability@Wayne seminar on Tuesday, October 24, 3017 from 2:30 p.m to 3:30 p.m. in 1507 Eng. Bldg. (EDC Auditorium). The seminar is free and open to the public; registration is requested.
The Sustainability@Wayne Seminar guest speaker will be Susan M. Rokosz, P.E., senior environmental engineer in the Environmental Quality Office at Ford Motor Company. She will present "Sustainable Manufacturing at Ford: Doing the Work and Telling the Story."
Ms. Rokosz has a B.S. degree in Chemistry and a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering, both from Wayne State University. She is a registered professional engineer in the State of Michigan.
Abstract:
Ford Motor Company has made significant progress in improving the environmental performance of its manufacturing facilities. For example, since 2000, water use decreased by 62% and CO2 emissions decreased by 52%, per vehicle produced. This talk will focus on how Ford achieved these accomplishments, and the importance of telling their sustainability story.
