The Office of the Vice President for Research and the Office of the Provost are pleased to offer the Research and Academic Development seminar series.  Seminars are free but registration is required.  Please note that this particular seminar is restricted to full-time faculty only.  Kindly adhere to this restriction.

This seminar, Navigating the Professorial Road to Success:  Caution!  Curves Ahead! will take place Thursday, March 28, 2019, from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at 5057 Woodward, 6th Floor, Conference Room A.

The moderator will be Dr. Loraleigh Keashly, professor of communication, associate dean for curricular & student affairs, College of Fine, Performing and Communication Arts.

Panelists will include: Linda Galante, associate general counsel for Wayne State University, Dr. Boris Baltes associate provost for faculty affairs, Dr. Phil Cunningham, associate vice president for research, and Dr. Rafael Fridman, professor of pathology and oncology, School of Medicine.

The discussion topics will focus on issues impacting the professional life of faculty during their academic career, and may include but are not limited to subjects such as: best practices for handling issues with trainees regarding personal relationships, mental health and performance expectations; professional issues arising from conflicts among colleagues and collaborators; complying with issues of research integrity in publications and grants, handling misconduct issues within the research/scholarly environment; personal integrity.
