Faculty Workload: Challenges and Solutions, hosted by NSF WSU-GEARS
This event is in the past.
RSVP is closed.
Hidden and uneven workload is a barrier to the retention and advancement of women in STEM faculty members. The NSF GEARS team invites faculty and chairs to RSVP for our dynamic workshop, "Faculty Workload: Challenges & Solutions." At this Workshop, we will share findings from the 11 departments that participated in our Workload Equity Pilot Project (2020-2022), before working with faculty participants to identify the challenges they see to addressing workload issues. We will then share solutions that other Wayne State University departments have undertaken to respond to hidden and uneven workload, including Department Workload Policies and a rotation of time-intensive service roles.
Led by WSU GEARS PI Dr. Krista Brumley (Sociology), co-PI Dr. Stine Eckert (Communication), and Dr. Nicole Gerring (project coordinator). Join us for snacks, coffee, and lively conversation at this free workshop.
