Abstract

In vitro fertilization (IVF) is still an expensive process that involves lots of complicated procedures. The survival rate and development of the embryo in vitro depend on the type of culture system, availability, and the composition of the media in each stage of embryo development. The main purposes of our study are to optimize the embryo culture condition for better development of the embryos and to analyze the metabolic activity of a single embryo to select a viable embryo for successful transfer and conception minimizing the chances of multiple pregnancies. Additionally, I will briefly introduce a biosensor which can measure both glucose and HbA1c electrochemically using label-free methods to overview glycemic conditions of blood samples using cheap and commercially viable dual carbon electrode-based biosensors.
