In conjunction with the opening of the Humanities Commons, an art exhibit featuring the work of Wayne State alumna Barbara Greene Mann will be displayed throughout the UGL. "The Elephant in the Room" exhibition will celebrate the life and art of this Cass Corridor visionary.

About the Humanities Commons:

Developed by the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (CLAS), the Humanities Commons is a vibrant hub where collaborative research flourishes, nurturing tomorrow's arts and humanities luminaries. Its mission? To champion research and collaboration that harmonizes with local communities, with a special focus on the dynamic tapestry of Detroit. The Commons exists to give a voice to the marginalized and demonstrate the inherent resilience of the arts. Join us in shaping a future where creativity knows no bounds and inclusivity knows no limits.

Professor of Teaching M.L. Liebler and the WSU English department have led the way with programming that increases the accessibility of the arts to students and the broader community. Join them and CLAS Dean Steffi Hartwell for the grand opening of this one-of-a-kind campus space.
