As part of the Michigan Notable Books tour, author Nathan Bomey, national business reporter for USA TODAY, will discuss his book “Detroit Resurrected: To Bankruptcy and Back,” at Wayne State University Law School.

Bomey was a reporter for more than three years for the Detroit Free Press, where he covered General Motors and Detroit’s bankruptcy.

The talk will be followed by a panel discussion featuring:

  • Professor Laura B. Bartell, Wayne Law
  • Professor Peter J. Hammer, director of Wayne Law's Damon J. Keith Center for Civil Rights
  • Professor John E. Mogk, Wayne Law
  • Ryan C. Plecha, attorney for the Retired Detroit Police and Fire Fighters Association and the Detroit Retired City Employees Association

Every year, the Library of Michigan selects up to twenty of the most notable books, either written by a Michigan resident or about Michigan or the Great Lakes. The selected books are honored in the year after their publication or copyright date. Each selected title speaks to our state’s rich cultural, historical, and literary heritage and proves without a doubt that some of the greatest stories are found in the Great Lakes State.
