This event is the culmination of the Go Detroit Challenge, an innovation challenge designed to stimulate new ideas and to find ways to better connect Detroit communities through innovative mobility solutions.

The GoDetroit Challenge started last year with an ethnographic study to understand people’s mobility experiences and challenges in Detroit. We then used this insight to challenge entrepreneurs, app developers and community groups with the question “How can we help all Detroiters move more safely, easily and reliably?”

The response has been incredible: We’ve had ~1,000 participants join the challenge, 260+ discussion posts, 4x community working sessions, and 160 ideas submitted.

On April 4th, the 11 challenge finalists will pitch in front of a live audience and judges to win a share of $60,000 in prizes.

Bill Ford, Executive Chairman of Ford Motor Company, and Jim Hackett, Chairman of Ford Smart Mobility, will open the event with a fireside chat on the human impact of mobility and the importance of user-driven innovation.
