On Tuesday, July 15 at noon, a team of Wayne State students, faculty, and staff will participate in Ruth Ellis Center's "STRIDE for PRIDE" fundraiser by hosting a brief walk -- less than a mile -- around campus that will start outside of Old Main, circle around campus, and end in the Center for Gender and Sexuality for little social gathering and lunch. The event is open to all students, faculty, staff, and friends, and there are several ways to get involved if you're interested in helping the Ruth Ellis Center:

  • Donate to REC or encourage others to donate. (You don't have to attend the walk to donate.)
  • Share the fundraising page on your social media.
  • Attend the walk itself. (You don't have to donate or raise donations to attend—Everyone is welcome.)

Summary of the details:

Tuesday, July 15th
12:00 PM
Start Location: Outside of Old Main (Cass Ave side)
End location: Center for Gender and Sexuality (670 Student Center Building, 6th floor)

Ruth Ellis Center provides stable housing, affirming health care, and holistic support that help LGBTQ+ young people thrive—not just survive.

Every dollar raised helps fund the kind of care that changes lives: from safe housing and food access to therapy, connection, and belonging.

Let’s make sure Pride doesn’t end with parades—it continues with real support.

Please give if you can, and consider sharing my fundraiser to help me reach our goal!
